Vegetable Seller Arrested For Selling Drugs In Odisha

During a search of the store, authorities allegedly found 101 gm of brown sugar, 100 gm of opium, and a sizable quantity of cannabis.

An official reported that a vegetable vendor was detained in the Ganjam region of Odisha for reportedly having brown sugar, opium, and cannabis worth more than 13 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, Excise personnel raided the vegetable shop of Bhaskar Dora at Bhaliagada under Golanthara police station area. 

According to deputy excise commissioner A K Satapathy, during a search of the outlet, they found roughly 101 g of brown sugar, 100 g of opium, and a substantial amount of cannabis.

According to Mr. Satapathy, the 40-year-old suspect may have bought the drugs from drug dealers and then posed as a vegetable vendor to sell them in the retail market.
