Officials identify the cause of a fatal infection

Health experts identified the bacterium Legionella as the most likely cause of the illness. Legionnaires' disease is caused by this bacterium.

San Miguel de Tucumán, the provincial capital of Tucumán and the location of the impacted health centre, is situated 670 miles northwest of Buenos Aires.

During a press conference on Sunday, it was revealed that a Florida child had been ill for more than 50 days with what might be a brain-eating amoeba.

Four samples from the deceased patients' bodies, according to health minister Carla Vizzotti, tested positive for the bacterium.

"The genome of the Legionella bacteria was found," she declared to the media.

Evidence suggests Legionella pneumophila. Breathing in water droplets that are infected with the Legionella bacterium causes the severe pneumonia known as Legionnaires' disease.
