NASA cancels the attempt due to an engine problem.

NASA started making plans to send an unmanned spacecraft into lunar orbit.

A spacecraft named Artemis 1 will journey for about 40 days and get up to 60 miles from the moon during that time.

Bill Nelson, the administrator of NASA, defended the cancellation of the Artemis I launch by arguing that it shouldn't take place until the crew is confident it is ready.

He said, "We don't launch until it's correct," in an interview with NASA TV on Monday morning.

"There are rules that must be adhered to. And I simply believe it serves as a metaphor for how complicated and intricate this system and machine are.
