Bengals quarterback action

To get to the league's 53-man roster restriction, the Cincinnati Bengals had to release veteran backup quarterback Brandon Allen on Tuesday, which came as a surprise.

In addition to starting quarterback Joe Burrow, the team now has two active quarterbacks after adding Allen to the 53-man roster on Friday.

According to Pro Football Talk, the organisation cut Allen so that Tycen Anderson and Isaiah Prince would remain on the active roster for the first 53 games before being hurt.

The organisation re-signed Allen after placing Anderson and Prince on the injured reserve list to free up space.

Although Allen is not anticipated to have a significant role for the Bengals this season, he started as the team's quarterback in 2020 after Burrow sustained a leg injury the year before.

In 14 NFL games throughout the course of his career, Fallen has thrown for 1,589 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions on 56.2% of his attempts.
